Community & Collaborations

The strong sense of community is one of the biggest upsides of working in the web sector. Below are some of the projects that have come about through my collaborations with other Galway-based companies. Details of who's involved in each are in the linked blog posts.
All have focused on trying to make the web / start-up sector in Galway stronger.

CodeNinja.ie

CodeNinja is an app development competition for Galway students. It’s designed to train and encourage students to be creative in the cultivation of their own tech ideas. It is open to both individuals and groups that want to build web and mobile applications.

Demobar Galway

Is your chance to have a beer or two, a chat with some company founders, and see informal product demonstrations by some of the West’s most exciting Web & Mobile start-up companies.

Bizcamp Galway

Bizcamp is a free “peer-led” conference that recognises entrepreneurs have loads to learn from each other. I was one of the team that brought it to Galway for the first time in 2010, and again in 2011.

091MarketingHackers

Was an initiative by a group of small web & mobile companies based in Galway to hire people to drive sales & marketing for our web / mobile apps. It came from difficulties identifying people with sales skills we all needed.
