Happy Christmas (…and why you didn’t get a card)

First off, I would like to wish you a very Happy Christmas. I hope you have an enjoyable one, and that 2008 finds you and your family well and happy!!

This year I decided against sending Christmas Cards to clients and friends; my apologies if you were expecting one. Instead, I decided to do something a little different and buy you a goat! On the up-side, you don’t need to worry about a large padded envelope stuffed with a goat arriving on your doorstep, instead Oxfam Ireland’s Unwrapped campaign lets you purchase gifts on behalf of others that are then donated to those in the developing world that need them most.

The money from your gift will go into one of four funds – Livelihoods, Humanitarian, HIV and AIDS or Campaigns and Advocacy – which then goes to fund various programmes where the gifts are used. (from Oxfam Unwrapped >> How it works).

So…here’s your goat:

Oxfam Unwrapped Goat

I realise that he’s a little less decorative than a nice Christmas card, and almost definitely wouldn’t look as good in your office or home, but it is a worthwhile cause. If you’re interested in making a donation of your own, Oxfam Ireland offer a variety of gifts, and you can do it online from www.oxfamirelandunwrapped.com

Enjoy your Christmas.

p.s. I haven’t named him yet, I thought it might be better to leave that to you…
